Public opinion on alcohol consumption and intoxication at Swedish professional football events

Why is alcohol, despite the risks for interpersonal violence, viewed as a focal element of large football events? We show that there is a strong public consensus for strategies to reduce alcohol sales and intoxication levels at public football games.
